Further investigation has lead to the conclusion that the presence of resistance logos, slogans and posters, as shown in previous and followng images express a real existing movement. This is not
a competitive commercial campaign, with the same goals as Life Inc's revolution. We won't jump to conclusions but must admit that there is a possibility that the marketability of the Revolution brand, as an expression of the reconcilliation of classes is being undermined. In the final days of our campaign we will decide wether or not our brand can be implemented in today's Spanish consumption pattern...

As we move on in the north and north-west quarters of the city, we notice a remarkable precence of left wing, even so called genuine revolutionary actvism. Propaganda posters as shown below are widespread and can't be mistaken for wat they aim for...

Revolution confronted with sudden competitors!

As we moved on with the Revolution campaign, we suddenly became aware of a certain local competitivity. While in the city centre the ancient symbols of the former revolutions are perfectly integrated in the commercial reality, the rest of the city revealed a presence of modern resistance. As if Barcelona's history is still alive? Or is this a smart move from a competing compagny? We will continue our investigation and try to find out wether this new factor will hamper the Branded Revolution Adevertisement Campaign.

Life Inc's Revolution hits the neighborhood of La Barceloneta. This area at Barcelona's beach is in the middle of the change the city is going through. It used to be a strong base for the CNT/FAI and other revolutionary groups. The dockworkers who lived and worked here where known for their radical resistance against the contrarevolutionairy reaction during the Spanish cicil war. In 1936 la barceloneta was armed by the symphatising local police force who provided a weapon to anyone who owned a union card. That made la Barceloneta one of the most resistant neighborhoods. This radical character remained even through the Franco regime.

Today a mayor change is taking place. The Barcelona city council is improving the area dramaticly. Most of the houses in the small streets of la barceloneta are in previous century conditions. The city council has brought up a new law that every appartment in la barceloneta that doesn't have an elevator or doesn't provide the space to install one can be demolished and replaced by improved housing. Meanwhile huge investments are injected in the rise of Port Vell, a hypermodern Yacht Port. The fast change offcourse causes some rupture. Thanks to the strengtening of local police forces, unlike in 1936, the social clashes can be avoided.

Why we chose spain as our Revolution operating base.

Spain is the ideal context for a ground-breaking project as Life Inc's Revolution.
Spanish capitalism has over the past decade shown a massive will to confront the challenges of today, even if that means taking risks. Investors have combined their unlimited fantasy with a rock-solid decisiveness.
As an example we proudly reffer to the booming of the Spanish housing market. Over the past 10 years housingprices have been able to climb to astonishing hights. In some regions we note a triplication! That turned spain into the Iberian concrete flower, where new housing estate investors can create a wealth that goes beyond imagination. With an average of 750.000 houses a year, Spain has built 4 times more houses over the last decade, than France, Germany and Great britain together, using 1/3 of the total European cement stock.

Succesfull launch of Revolution! The first images.

Life Inc. has succesfully launched her market investigation in fizzing Barcelona!
We will keep you updated daily about our actions to promote the Revolution brand.

We started off with applying revolution logos, drawings and billboards on some popular places in the city. While undertaking this action we keep connected to Barcelonas revolutionary history and build a bridge to the Barcelona of today.

Revolution will change the face of the city and leave an impression that cannot soon be forgotten.
Please leave your remarks and help us make this campaign a succes.

The first image underneath shows the revolution logo on one of the pillars of the famous previous Post and Telegraphic center. This was the hotspot in one of the most fascinating episodes in the history of the Spanish 1936 civil war. This postoffice was occupied by militants of the trotskyist POUM (partido obrero unidad marxista) and CGT anarchists. When the PCE (spanish stalinists) betrayed the revolution they tried to break down the occupation. From this postoffice a deadly struggle begun between the left and richt wing of the revolutionary forces, wich symbolises the confusion that made an end to the Spanish revolution.

The following image shows a more modern application of the Revolution logo, on one of the walls of the subway entrance on the popular Passeig de Gracia.

A catalan woman looks suprised as a Revolution billboard is being exposed in the center of the city. On the background you see the impressive building of the Catalan Communist Union. (CCOO) founded in the vulcanic years of spanish social clashes wich developed the revolution of '36.
